Finance within the media has several job roles which are all as important as each other. Each role contributes to keeping a company going and making sure they don’t take the wrong turn for the worst. Each job will consist of keeping records and accounts, making sure people ad the supplies are all paid on time and that the collecting income is earned from the sales and even the advertising. Job roles for finance consist of:

v  Account Executives

v  Payroll Clerks

v  A Line Producer

v  Financial Controller

v  Senior Production Accountant

Each individual role tackles certain tasks which help the media industry. For example, Film Accountants have a responsibility which includes managing the things such as the budget for the film and also the financial aspect of maintaining the financial situation during the recording of the film production. This job itself is important as the film accountant will work closely with the producer and even the production team to make sure schedules and the budget is prepared for the film production. Account Executives can be considered the same as the Film Accountants to a certain extent. The fact the Film Accountants work closely with the producer and production team, an Account Executive will work closely with clients possibly on a daily basis. They work on multi service agencies and they also act like a form of link between clients and other agencies used. They have a responsibility which includes other agency staff and their clients, and this would be sorting out an advertising campaign. The responsibilities of a Payroll Clerk are the arrangement of all the staffs salaries and also it is their job to process al the new joiners and even people leaving. They will also provide advice to the staff that they are working with on their national insurance, being taxed and their pay. The SSP (Statuary Sick Pay) is also a part of the Payroll Clerks job as well as recording sickness and when staff has time off and they also assist in the company’s pension scheme.
